A respected and talented architect, hotel developer, real estate asset manager and mediator, Claude Amar has infused each project with one common denominator: a passion for building spaces and human connections. Specialized in the conception, and development, of 4- and 5-star properties worldwide, as well as the management of properties across Europe and the US, he has overseen many prominent real estate projects. Educated at the prestigious Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris, he went on to study Finance at INSEAD in 1996, before diving deep into the world of mediation. Amar was trained, in 2001, by American mediation pioneer Gary Friedman himself at the leading San Francisco-based Centre for Mediation in Law. In 2004 and 2005, he embarks on Harvard Law School’s intensive Robert Mnookin’s Program on Negotiation. He has been certified as a mediator by the IMI (International Mediation Institute), the SIMI (Singapore International Mediation Institute) as well as the IFCM (Institut Français de Certification des Médiateurs). Claude Amar is the founding partner of Mediation & Resolution (https://mediation-resolution.net), the first mediation chamber in Continental Europe. He has been vetted and is regularly appointed by the French Courts of appeal (Paris, Versailles, Toulouse, Aix-en-Provence, Bastia…) in cases implying commercial or industrial leaders, whether public or private contracts. Having received international recognition by mediation centres worldwide – in cities including Paris, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kyoto, Bali, Los Angeles and Cairo – Amar is currently a member of the Board of Governors and a Distinguished Fellow of the IAM (International Academy of Mediators), the President of the Académie de la Mediation and a member of the Working Group of the ICC International Mediation Competition. Amar is also a founding member and mediator for “Espace d’Accès à la Médiation”, a pro bono organization dedicated to providing mediation services to individuals with limited means.
